Schulthess is already thinking about tomorrow and is committed to sustainability through high-quality, durable products, innovation and environmentally friendly production.

Swiss made

Our contribution to environmental protection begins with our production site in Switzerland. Schulthess washing machines, dryers and dishwashers have been developed, produced and delivered from Wolfhausen in the Zurich Oberland since 1845.

This leads to great flexibility and short transport distances – up to 22 times shorter than when production takes place abroad.

Schulthess also uses a digital route planning system to optimise service technician routes and reduce emissions.

Our vehicle fleet is constantly being modernised and replaced with more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Sustainability at Schulthess

Sustainable action – also among employees

Schulthess promotes sustainable action internally by offering public transport discounts and replacing PET bottles with reusable glass bottles.

With every purchase of a fill-me bottle, one franc is donated to Drink & Donate to support drinking water projects worldwide.

Order processing at Schulthess is completely paperless, and brochures and price lists are provided digitally wherever possible.

Swiss quality products

Schulthess machines are made from high-quality materials such as chrome steel instead of plastic, making them hygienic, recyclable and durable.

Their long lifespan contributes to environmental protection and lowers long-term ownership costs.

Repair options

If a machine is nonetheless defective, Schulthess customer service will repair it at a fair price even after many years. All spare parts are stored at the production site in Switzerland and can be shipped directly from there. All parts are available for several generations of appliances.

First-class energy efficiency through advanced washing technology

Schulthess wash programmes are designed to achieve perfect washing results with the lowest possible consumption of energy, water and detergent.

Both the wash programmes and the mechanics of the washing machines are constantly being optimised, making the appliances increasingly environmentally friendly.

The washing process is based on the Sinner’s circle, which includes four components: detergent, mechanics, time and temperature. These factors are directly related, meaning improvements in mechanics can reduce water, detergent and energy consumption.

Schulthess washing machines are highly energy-efficient. Most machines have received an A+++ rating on the EU energy label for excellent washing and spinning performance with minimal water and energy consumption.

Washing is also particularly resource-friendly with the hot water and rainwater connection.

Progress

By constantly improving machines and programmes, Schulthess has reduced energy and water consumption by a factor of 7 over the last 40 years.

In 1975, a washing machine consumed 55 litres of water and 0.49 kWh of energy per kilogram of laundry.

Today, with only 6.8 litres per kilo of laundry, it requires 88% less water and only 0.087 kWh of energy.

To make Schulthess as ecological as possible, the company has committed itself to measurable environmental protection measures (ISO certification 14001) and is a corporate member of My Blue Planet.
